Mark I
As a standard containment boom, the Mark I is a sturdy, economical boom for general purpose and industrial use. This particular design is considered to be the best boom for most applications. It is chosen for normally calm, inland waters and ports with low current velocities, as well as slips, canals and holding ponds. It has the capabilities required to contain a spill and the physical characteristics to last a long time. Our unique double seals allows for smoother contouring in action, and easier retrieval and folding. The cylindrical flotation gives higher buoyancy and reduces or eliminates splash-over.
Mark IA
Most commonly used in waterways that vary in season and weather or in shallow waters. The heavier ballast and shorter draft make this boom hug the water in wind and helps keep it free from ice. A great choice for canals, slips, channels, streams, swamps and ravines. Easily deployable.
Standard in all ABBCO Boom Systems:
Double sealed, water tight, flotation compartments, double abrasion resistant ballast pockets, 1″ wide vertical seals, and 1 1/2″ minimum width continuous horizontal seal, and fold joints. High visibility polyester/nylon reinforced vinyl fabrics and a choice of either toggle pin or a thumbscrew on the “Tool Free” Universal Quick Connector or Universal Slide Connector. (ASTM)

Our largest, most powerful boom system for heavier seas and harbors where the weather is very uncertain. It has a higher freeboard and deeper draft to contain the spill in very rough seas. Three (3) standard sizes are available or we will custom make a boom to your specifications. SPECIAL NOTE: We have designed a special “tide riser system” that connects to this system and allows the boom to rise and fall with the tide.

Mark II
Our Mark II Boom Systems will stand up to a beating and continue to perform well.
If you have been searching for a boom system that will function in the worst of situations, you will appreciate the MARK II Group. It can stand up to a beating and continue to perform well. It requires minimum manpower and cleans up easily. All Mark II Booms have the sweeping power, diversionary power and rugged tensile strength for swift multiple deployments, tidal changes, currents, towing and recovery. It comes in (4) standard sizes to fit your requirements; or have one custom made to your specifications.
Mark II Oil Boom
The Mark II Oil Boom is the most widely used design today. With its upper and lower tension members it provides greater tensile strength for towing, sweeping, containment and diversion of a spilled product. Like all Mark II boom series, this boom can be deployed from a workboat, barge, boxed or open trailer, or right from the dock. This boom is ideal for use in waters that range from slight chop to choppy. Able to be towed with small boats in lengths up to 1,000 feet. It conforms well to the surface and its overall strength works very well for containing light debris, soft ice, and, of course, spilled product.
Mark II-A Wetlands Boom
The Mark II-A Boom System is ideal for shallow water applications such as swamps, beaches, or wetlands. With its high tensile strength and shorter draft, this boom can be towed with a jon-boat in shallow waters. The heavier ballast allows the skirt area to hug the contour of the bottom and give you maximum containment of the spilled product or debris. Ideal for locations with slight to moderate chop on the water, this boom will provide a high degree of stability.
Mark II-B Contractors Boom
Mark II-B, or Contractors Boom, is a boom system with a slightly higher freeboard, deeper draft and greater overall tensile strength. Towing capabilities can range up to 1,000 feet depending on severity of conditions. Excellent properties for using as a diversionary boom, yet still light enough for deployment by as few as (2) people. Containment capabilities of product and debris are outstanding in moderately choppy conditions.
Mark II Fast Water Boom
Mark II-B, or Contractors Boom, is a boom system with a slightly higher freeboard, deeper draft and greater overall tensile strength. Towing capabilities can range up to 1,000 feet depending on severity of conditions. Excellent properties for using as a diversionary boom, yet still light enough for deployment by as few as (2) people. Containment capabilities of product and debris are outstanding in moderately choppy conditions.
Mark II-C Nearshore\Offshore Boom
Used mainly off a coastline, this boom has a higher freeboard area to maximize its buoyancy and contour over large waves or swell in open water. Also with a much deeper draft, this boom can maintain containment of heavy crude spills in the harshest seawater; this boom can also be deployed from a large workboat platform or barge with minimum personnel. Overall performance remains high even in heavy debris or ice water conditions.

Hardboom
Hardboom Permanent Boom
HARDBOOM was developed specifically for “permanent deployment” and is one of the most effective ways to have your boom system in place before a spill occurs.
Offering three (3) standard designs, HARDBOOM will protect those areas that would be particularly sensitive to an oil spill; the area that would be far too costly to get into and clean up; the area, which if shut down for a lengthy period, would cost more than the clean-up. It was also designed to protect your facility from someone else’s problem.
HARDBOOM is made of super strong, high tensile belting, 60 times stronger than most fabrics used in deployment booms.
The floats are constructed from super durable, high quality foam filled ABS plastic.
The closed-cell-filled floats are tested tough for withstanding abrasion, resisting marine growth, taking on wave action and remaining functional at all times.
As well as our other products, ABBCO uses connectors that meet all ASTM standards. This allows you to connect HARDBOOM directly to your existing boom. In an emergency, this versatility could be extremely valuable and cost saving.
For permanent placement, a special , low maintenance, Cable Tide Riser System (CTRS) has been designed to have the boom remain in position yet automatically follow the rise and fall of the tides. No adjustments necessary, no manpower required.
