"Our Most Economical Boom for Most Appliations" |
|
As a standard containment boom, the Mark I is a sturdy,
economical boom for general purpose and industrial use. This particular
design is considered to be the best boom for most applications. It is
chosen for normally calm, inland waters and ports with low current
velocities, as well as slips, canals and holding ponds. It has the
capabilities required to contain a spill and the physical characteristics
to last a long time. Our unique double seals allows for smoother
contouring in action, and easier retrieval and folding. The cylindrical
flotation gives higher buoyancy and reduces or eliminates splash-over.

Most commonly used in waterways that vary in season and
weather or in shallow waters. The heavier ballast and shorter draft make
this boom hug the water in wind and helps keep it free from ice. A great
choice for canals, slips, channels, streams, swamps and ravines. Easily
deployable.
|
Standard in all ABBCO Boom Systems:Double sealed, water tight, flotation compartments, double abrasion resistant ballast pockets, 1" wide vertical seals, and 1 1/2" minimum width continuous horizontal seal, and fold joints. High visibility polyester/nylon reinforced vinyl fabrics and a choice of either toggle pin or a thumbscrew on the "Tool Free" Universal Quick Connector or Universal Slide Connector. (ASTM)
